Canadian Solar Inc, a solar photovoltaic modules manufacturer, and EDF Renewables, a French renewables arm of electric utility company Électricité de France S.A, have secured 1.39 billion Brazilian real ($362 million) for their jointly-owned 399 megawatts per hour Pirapora solar complex in Brazil.

EDF Renewables is holding an 80 percent stake in the complex while Canadian Solar owns the rest.

The debentures issued for Pirapora I have a 16-year tenor and are guaranteed by the U.S. lender Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and IDB Invest.

Previously, the Pirapora solar complex received a $134.2 million financing from Brazilian financial services company National Bank for Economic and Social Development.
