Dutch infrastructure development and investment company Miller Turner plans to construct a 200 million pounds ($260.6 million) biomass plant in Preston, Lancashire, UK.

The facility is expected to have the capacity to turn up to 395,000 tonnes of residual waste per year into alternative fuel.

The biomass plant is anticipated to generate around 40 megawatts of low carbon electricity which could power up to 89,000 homes.

Longridge Road Energy Centre has allocated Red Scar Industrial Estate as the plot to build the biomass facility on.
