Afrox Healthcare, unit of South African industrial gases company Afrox, will infuse more than 150 million South African rands ($10.8 million) to upgrade its service facilities at hospital sites in Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State and North West.

The expansion plan is part of Afrox Healthcare’s investment strategy to deliver on the state healthcare tender awarded to Afrox to supply hospitals and clinics across nine provinces.

Further, Afrox Healthcare is seeking opening new medical filling facilities in Klersksdorp, Kimberley and possibly Newcastle, as well as renovating its Bloemfontein and Germiston sites.

The expansion plan will consist of the installation of 62 new bulk tanks and boost its fleet of 40 000 cylinders by February.
