UK’s Liberty Smelter to begin groundwork for $152.4 mln car parts factory

UK aluminium smelter Liberty Smelter has revealed that groundwork for its 120 million pounds ($152.4 million) car parts factory will start in January.

A contract has been tendered and secured to prepare the ground for an alloy factory on GFG Alliance Liberty Smelter land at Fort William in Scotland.

Close to 700 local jobs are expected to be created, 400 at the alloy wheels factory and another 279 through the supply chain.

Liberty Smelter said that the factory is on expected to be inaugurated in 2020.
