U.S. lightweight metals maker Arconic Inc. plans to extend its hot mill capability and add downstream equipment capabilities in its Tennessee Operations facility near Knoxville, Tennessee.

With the expansion plans, expected to cost $100 million, Arconic Inc. will boost downstream equipment capabilities to manufacture industrial and automotive aluminium products at the facility to meet customer needs.

The project, with its completion expected by the fourth quarter of 2020, will involve general site improvements, material handling upgrades and an expansion of the plant’s finishing capabilities.

Moreso, Arconic will further diversify its portfolio in North American and create about 70 new jobs.
