Côte d’Ivoire-based private banking company African Development Bank Group has approved a $23.6 million loan to fund the construction of the Centre of Excellence for Aviation Skills (CEAS) in Kigali, Rwanda. This facility, set to become a regional aviation hub, will equip students with the necessary skills for careers in the aviation industry. The CEAS will offer training in piloting, aircraft maintenance, cabin crew services, dispatch, and other aviation-related fields. Additionally, it will contribute to Rwanda's Vision 2050, which focuses on enhancing human capital and improving workforce productivity. The Centre is expected to enroll around five hundred students starting in 2025 and address the growing demand for aviation professionals in Africa, which is estimated to reach fifty thousand in the next two decades.

Key companies involved in this project are the African Development Bank Group, which approved the loan, and the proposed Centre of Excellence for Aviation Skills in Rwanda. The CEAS, located in Kigali, aims to train the next generation of aviation professionals, addressing the continent's growing demand for skilled workers in the industry. This initiative aligns with Rwanda's ambitions to become a regional aviation hub and will create numerous job opportunities during both the construction and operational phases, benefiting the East African region.
