Australian horticultural company Costa Group has begun a A$67 million ($48.7 million) expansion project.

The new extension, which will lead to another 10 hectares of glasshouse built on the company's site to the north of Guyra, will grow snacking and cocktail tomato varieties.

Costa Group noted that the project is expected to create another 150 jobs for the region.

The expansion project is forecasted to be operational by mid-2020.
