Brazil’s Embraer to sell its aviation division to U.S. Boeing for $4.2 bln

Brazilian aerospace company Embraer SA plans to divest control of its commercial aviation division to U.S. peer Boeing Co. for $4.2 billion.

The transaction still requires approval from regulators around the world.

Following the deal, Boeing will have operational and management control of the aviation division.

Whereas Embraer will retain consent rights for certain strategic decisions, such as transfer of operations from Brazil.
