Brazilian financial technology company Creditas announced that it has raised $231 million in a fresh funding round, valuing the firm at $750 million.

The funding round was conducted by Japan’s SoftBank with participation from Santander InnoVentures, Amadeus Capital, Vostok Emerging Finance and SoftBank Investment Advisers.

Creditas said that part of the proceeds will be used to expand into Latin America, starting by offering asset-backed credit in Mexico later this year.

Additionally, the new capital will also be used to extend Creditas’ product portfolio, improve its technology and increase the number of employees.
