Canadian drugmaker BioVectra will spend about C$144.6 million ($108.4 million) in its expansion project in both Charlottetown and Windsor (C&W).

The company will also get about $28 million in funding from the Government of Canada via the Strategic Innovation Fund.

BioVectra said the project will support its on-going active pharmaceutical ingredients production capacity expansion in Charlottetown, as well as an expansion of its biologics capabilities in Windsor.

The expansion project is also expected to create about 150 jobs at Prince Edward Island and in Nova Scotia.
