Toronto-based Hydro One, an electricity transmission and distribution service provider, intends to infuse $100 million in significant infrastructure upgrades in the Ottawa region.

The company plans to collaborate with peer Hydro Ottawa to double the capacity in a transmission line in South Nepean.

Additionally, the companies will partner to renovate the line between Hawthorne and Merivale Transmission Stations to support development in the west of Ottawa.

More so, Hydro One and Hydro Ottawa will trim trees along transmission corridors to reduce power outages in the city.
