Canadian petroleum transportation and infrastructure company Inter Pipeline Ltd intends to upgrade a petrochemical facility in Edmonton with up to $600 million investment.

With the infusion, Inter Pipeline expects to produce more valuable consumer products from propane like coatings, adhesives, diapers and paints.

The new facility will generate 600 temporary skilled trade jobs and 50 skilled local permanent jobs in the region.

The company noted the construction on the project is expected to begin in 2021.
