Canadian petroleum transportation and infrastructure company Inter Pipeline Ltd. is close to investing about $600 million in new petrochemical upgrading facility in Alberta.

With the investments, Inter Pipeline Ltd. will build a new petrochemical facility which will produce more valuable consumer products derived from propane.

The project is expected to construct on its supply and knowledge of propylene, a product it already produces at its other petrochemical facilities, east of Edmonton.

The construction works will create about 600 jobs with another 50 long-term positions supporting the local economy once the facility is fully up and running.
