Canadia-based WPT Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust intends to buy a portfolio of 13 industrial buildings and three land parcels totaling about 2.2 million square feet of gross leasable area for a total acquisition price of about $226 million.

Located in multiple U.S. markets, the portfolio increases WPT’s scale in Chicago, Milwaukee and Minneapolis and adds properties in three new markets, including Los Angeles and Miami.

The deal also features well-situated, highly functional distribution properties with a balanced blend of eight single-tenant and five multi-tenant buildings, which add scale and diversification to WPT’s portfolio and tenant base.

The move is scheduled to close within the next 30 days, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions, and is expected to be immediately accretive to the WPT’s adjusted funds from operations.
