Canada's Entertainment One, a record label and entertainment distribution company, has agreed to acquire peer Alliance Films in a long-negotiated deal potentially worth C$272 million ($277 million).
According to Entertainment One, the deal will make the company the largest indie distributor in the Canadian and the UK markets.
The company added that the acquisition will strengthen its existing film distribution business and it helps to drive growth.
In April 2011, Entertainment One acquired Australian distribution company Hopscotch.
