Canadian wood pellets manufacturer Pinnacle Pellet Inc. is proposing an investment of $30 million in upgrading the equipment at its plant located at Williams Lake.

Pinnacle Pellet, part of Pinnacle Renewable Energy Inc., noted that the main addition will be a bed dryer that will increase the evaporative capacity of the facility, thus bringing the plant’s production back to its historic levels.

The proposed bed dryer is expected to add an additional eight metric tonnes per hour on the plant's current rotary style dryer, whose capacity is four metric tonnes per hour of drying capacity.

Pinnacle Pellet is currently seeking a letter of recommendation from the City of Williams Lake for a permit amendment that will boost the size of its baghouse, its air pollution control device and dust collector, from 25 cubic metres per second to 30 cubic metres per second.
