Canadian investment management company Brookfield Asset Management Inc. has landed $147.2 million in financing round.

The investments came from South Korean investment company Kiwoom Asset Management Co. Ltd, which resold the tranche to Meritz Securities Co. Ltd. and other domestic institutional investors via a private vehicle.

Brookfield said the financing is part of the $550 million it raised to buy seven office buildings in four eastern U.S. states for $775.1 million.

In 2016, Brookfield raised $1.4 billion in senior credit from South Korean lenders to buy the International Finance Center complex in central Seoul for $2.2 billion.
