Canadian seafood and related products producer Cooke Inc. plans to construct a new salmon recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) in New Brunswick.

The new facility, which will cost about $30 million, is expected to enhance the growth of salmon to at least 300 grams.

The RAS facility will be situated in Champlain Industrial Park at Bayside while using advanced new water recirculation technology.

Cooke said the operation will be part of the Kelly Cove Salmon, a subsidiary of Cooke Aquaculture.
