Canpack Romania opens new production line with $56.9 mln investment

Canpack Romania, an aluminium beverage can producer, announced the opening of a new line of aluminium can production at its Bucharest plant, with an investment of over 50 million euros ($56.9 million).

Canpack Romania said that it expects to open a new production line at its aluminium factory in Bucharest, which demonstrates its determination to increase its competitiveness on this market and its focus on the long-term sustainable development of its business.

The new investment will allow the total production capacity of the existing unit to be increased from 950 million to 1.55 billion cans annually with the possibility of producing 4 types of packaging: 50 centilitres (cl), 33 cl, 33 fit and 25 cl slim.

Due to the opening of the new production line, approximately 88 additional jobs will be created, which is reflected in an increase in the number of qualified professionals, from 163 to over 250.
