Chinese cement manufacturer Gansu Hengya Cement Co. is planning to build a new cement plant in Kattakurgan district of Samarkand region, Uzbekistan.

The facility will be constructed in two stages, the first stage worth $220 million to produce up to 1.2 million tons of cement per year.

From 2020 to 2023, the second stage will be implemented and allow reaching full capacity. The cost of a new cement plant with a capacity of over 2.4 million tons of cement per year is $420 million.

The new plant will be expected to produce cement of mixing grades of M-400, M-500, white and gray, and M-600.
