Chinese petrochemical products maker Lunte Petrochemical inaugurated a 238 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa) scrap-tire recycling project at its site in Cangzhou’s Bohai New Area.

The opening is part of Lunte Group’s phase one project with 2 billion yuan ($289.2 million) investment.

The investment also includes 430 ktpa capacity for modified asphalt and 1,500 ktpa capacity for heavy duty asphalt.

The former facility started up as the scrap-tire plant, the latter came on stream in June 2017.
