Chinese consumer electronics to mobile communications company OPPO, a subsidiary of consumer electronics maker BBK Electronics, will spend about $1.43 billion on research and development (R&D) in 2019.

With the investments, OPPO aims to fully integrate the fifth generation with applications and user insights to provide users with revolutionary, necessary, convenient and seamless experiences.

The company will also adopt artificial intelligence (AI) while dedicating focus and resources to cutting-edge AI technologies and applications.

Further, OPPO expects to integrate technological innovation with art and humanity, to build smart devices and smart homes with the smartphone at the core.
