Chinese technology company Vivo Communication Technology announced that it has bought 169 acres of land in Uttar Pradesh, India.

The acquired land is situated near Vivo's existing 50-acre manufacturing facility.

In addition, the company plans to spend 40 billion rupees ($559 million) to establish its second local plant in the country.

In January, Vivo and other Chinese smartphone vendors were interested in buying U.S. semiconductor chips maker Qualcomm Inc components with a total value of no less than $2 billion over three years.
