Chinese electronics company Xiaomi Corp. has committed 3,500 crore rupees ($508.3 million) in India to extend its Mi Home retail stores and business in the country.

Additionally, the company’s subsidiary, Xiaomi India, has revealed a new manufacturing facility, taking the total of its manufacturing plants to 7.

With the start of the new facility, Xiaomi's production capacity has increased from 2 phones per second to 3 phones per second in India.

The company said that it will be assembling smartphones at the new production plant as well as manufacture printed circuit board assembly.
