Chinese aluminum processing company Xinjiang Joinworld Co. Ltd has revealed that it plans to construct an alumina refinery in Guinea.

Xinjiang Joinworld noted that the $831 million scheme will be built over a 30-month period in a special economic zone in the vicinity of the coastal city of Boffa.

The alumina facility will have a 27-year lifespan, scouring in $69 million per year from refining bauxite into alumina.

The project will ensure adequate alumina supplies to Xinjiang Joinworld while at the same time, any surplus the company does not need for its aluminum smelting will be sold to other consumers not only in China but also to buyers in Central Asia and the Middle East.
