China's Aviation Industry Corp. has completed the $3.8 billion Agostinho Neto International Airport (ANIA) in Luanda, Angola. The airport, set to be inaugurated soon, aims to bolster Angola's status as a regional aviation hub and stimulate economic growth by improving domestic flights and business connectivity. ANIA will replace Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport as the country's primary international airport, offering a terminal with a capacity for 15 million passengers annually and the ability to handle 130,000 tons of cargo per year during its initial phase.

The state-owned airport will serve TAAG, Angola's national airline, along with regional and international carriers, with cargo operations starting initially and passenger services for the domestic market expected to commence in early 2024, followed by international flights in the third quarter of the same year.
