China's Tsingshan to build battery plant in India with $3 bln investment

Chinese stainless steel products manufacturer Tsingshan Holding Group plans to inject $3 billion in Dholera, Gujarat, India.

Tsingshan is planning to establish an electrical battery facility in Dholera to cater to the fast-growing auto industry in India.

The commitment will be made in partnership with Tsingshan’s Indian joint venture partner, Chromeni Steel.

Currently, Chromeni Steel is involved in the establishing of a major stainless steel complex in Mundra, Kutch district.
