USA, New York City-based Cumulus Coffee Company has raised $20.3 million in seed funding to advance its premium cold brew solution for home use. The funding round, led by Valor Siren Ventures and Valor Equity Partners, includes participation from investors such as Maveron, Howard Schultz, Linden Ventures, Carter Reum, and Ryan Tedder. Cumulus, led by founder and CEO Mesh Gelman, offers a compact machine utilizing newly invented technology and recyclable aluminum capsules to produce 10-ounce cold brew, nitro cold brew, and cold-pressed espresso in under 45 seconds. The proprietary brewing process ensures beverages are prepared without ice, and the nitro cold brew is made without the need for a nitrogen gas tank, preserving the coffee's taste by avoiding exposure to heat. Cumulus plans to introduce various carefully curated flavor profiles, having control over its coffee sourcing and roasting.
