USA, San Francisco-based Dashtoon has secured $5 million in seed funding to further develop its platform for storytellers and content creators. The funding round was led by Matrix Partners India and Stellaris Venture Partners, with the participation of notable angel investors. Dashtoon intends to utilize the funds to expand its AI research efforts, advance product development, and enhance content production in the upcoming months.

Co-founded in December 2022 by Sanidhya Narain, Lalith Gudipati, and Soumyadeep Mukherjee, Dashtoon offers a platform that harnesses Generative AI technology to empower storytellers worldwide to craft illustrated content. Dashtoon Studio provides creators with tools for maintaining character consistency, precise image composition, and streamlined comic creation workflows. The platform also grants access to an extensive character library and the ability to train and monetize unique characters, facilitating the production of professional-quality, captivating content ready for global audiences. In addition, Dashtoon's Comic Reader Apps enable consumers to access new episodes daily. As the company continues to advance, it plans to add multi-modal capabilities that can generate storyboards and dialogues using AI, significantly reducing the time required to create an episode to under an hour.
