Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), an investment manager headquartered in Denmark, and Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP) have announced investments from CIP's Flagship funds for the development of gigawatt (GW)-scale offshore wind projects in Korea. The projects, located in the Jeonnam Province and developed by COP, will support Korea's goal of achieving 14.3 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind power by 2030. The investment of $350 million will contribute to Korea's transition towards carbon neutrality by 2050. CIP and COP have been actively involved in the Korean offshore wind market since 2018, working closely with local companies, authorities, and communities to foster the growth of wind power supply networks.

CIP is a fund manager specializing in greenfield renewable energy investments, particularly in offshore and onshore wind, solar PV, and other renewable energy sectors. With a strong focus on offshore wind, CIP manages funds dedicated to energy transition and has a significant presence worldwide. COP is a prominent player in the origination, development, and construction of offshore wind projects. COP's expertise extends to floating offshore wind and system integration capabilities. The investment in Korea's offshore wind sector will contribute to COP's portfolio of over 50 GW of projects and support the energy transition across multiple regions.
