Danish wind turbines manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S announced that it has signed a framework agreement to manufacture its Vestas 150 to 4.2 megawatts nacelles in the Brazilian state of Ceara.

The new production plant, whose exact location is yet to be determined, will require approximately 23 million euros ($26.16 million) in investments.

The plant not only confirms Vestas’ commitment to the Brazilian market but also allows it to continue its 4 megawatts platform expansion in the country as well as in the Latin American region.

With its new plant, Vestas’ expects to provide to its customers access to financial support from the Brazilian Development Bank, covering the acquisition of Brazilian-produced machinery and equipment.
