Senegal's Ndayane Port, under construction and set to be completed by April 2027, is poised to become West Africa's largest multifunctional port. The project, with a forty-eight-month timeline beginning on April 1, 2023, is being primarily financed by Dubai Port World (DP World), a logistics company, at a cost of $827 million for the first phase. This phase includes a 300-hectare container terminal, a 5-kilometer shipping channel, and an 840-meter quay with an 18-meter draft, aiming to transform Ndayane into a significant deepwater port akin to Jebel Ali.

The second phase, costing $290 million, will introduce a 410-meter quay, cargo and fishing terminals, and a ship repair facility. This development represents Senegal's first major port project since gaining independence, with government involvement in the management of the port's container terminal company.
