Ethiopia's coffee exports have significantly boosted the country's revenue, reaching $835.2 million in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority (ECTA), headquartered in Ethiopia, revealed that the nation exported 174,596 tons of coffee, experiencing notable growth compared to the previous year. Major destinations for Ethiopian coffee include Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the U.S., Germany, Japan, and China, highlighting strong global demand. The Deputy Director-General of ECTA emphasized Ethiopia's coffee industry progress, driven by rigorous sector reforms, aiming to surpass US$1.75 billion in exports by the fiscal year's end, with ongoing efforts to diversify export destinations and improve market strategies.

Ethiopia, the fifth-largest global coffee producer and Africa's largest targets quadrupling export revenues over fifteen years, aiming for revenues between $3.6 billion and $4.6 billion by 2033. To achieve these ambitious goals, ECTA focuses on research and development of climate-resilient coffee breeds, agronomy improvements, and supply chain professionalism. With its renowned specialty coffees, Ethiopia aims to consolidate its position in the global market through strategic reforms and investments in the coffee sector.
