German energy company E.ON, via its telecommunication unit e.discom, will infuse about 130 million euros ($148.2 million) to extend its fiber to the building (FTTB) network in Brandenburg, Germany.

E.ON has got a total of seven plots of land from Markisch-Oderland for the expansion, six of which have gone to e.discom.

E.ON will offer its telecommunication services to the government, residential and business customers in the future via triple-play access with bandwidth from 200 megabits per second to more than 1 gigabit per second.

The construction works will start in spring and close around four years with a total of around 20,000 households connected.
