Germany-based financial technology firm N26 has secured $300 million in a funding round.

The round, valuing N26 at $2.7 billion, was spearheaded by U.S. private equity firm Insight Venture Partners.

The funding also had participation from Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC, Chinese technology giant Tencent, German insurer Allianz and PayPal.

With the financial support, N26 will expand its footprint in international markets, with the U.S. expansion due early this year and Europe within the next couple of years.
