German steam electrolysers and fuel cells developer Sunfire has secured 25 million euros ($28.6 million) in a Series C funding round.

The round was led by Luxembourg-based technology company Paul Wurth with participation from INVEN Capital, Idinvest Partners, Total Energy Ventures and Sunfire Entrepreneurs Club.

With the new capital injection, Sunfire will execute its 2019 commercial multi-megawatt projects applying high-temperature electrolysis and Power-to-Liquid technology.

Further, Sunfire will also use the proceeds for expansion plans especially its pure product business to service activities in the field of projects.
