German automotive manufacturing company Continental AG is investing $113 million to expand its new tire manufacturing facility in Lousado, Portugal.
Continental said that the production plant, built for its radial off-the-road products, will enable the company to extend its radial off-highway tire business and strengthen its footprint in Lousado.
The new facility is equipped with state-of-the-art tire building machinery and automated devices designed to deliver radial tires following high ergonomic standards.
The factory, which is creating about 100 jobs, will be primarily for producing the radial earthmoving and port tires with a diameter larger than 24 inches, further pursuing its growth strategy of the tire division.
