Evonik Industries AG, a German specialty chemicals company, has awarded Scottish energy services company John Wood Group PLC a new engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services contract.
Under the deal plan, John Wood will deliver EPCM services for Evonik Industries' new polyamide 12 (PA12) production complex, to be built at the Marl Chemical Park, Marl, Germany.
The new plant will be an addition to the existing PA12 production plant. The deal, valued at circa 400 million euros ($455.5 million) will boost Evonik’s overall capacity for PA12 by more than 50 percent.
The project, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021, will be executed by Wood’s capital projects team, based in Milan.
