Ghana-based renewable energy to agriculture company Hi Limit Group has inked a purchase agreement to renovate the defunct Komenda sugar factory.

Under the deal, Hi Limit Group will manufacture 375,000 metric tonnes of sugar cane annually to feed the sugar factory.

Hi Limit Group said that it is committing approximately $78 million in the factory to ensure that the plant becomes vibrant.

The company added that it is hiring around 23,000 youth who will cultivate the B41227 variety of sugarcane using an irrigation technology which will ensure an all-year-round supply.
