Ghana-based technology talent startup Remoteli secures 250,000 pounds ($314,824) in pre-seed funding to fuel expansion across Africa, led by a Ghanaian-Dutch professional footballer associated with Bundesliga club Bayern Leverkusen. Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, Remoteli aims to bridge the gap between unemployed graduates and organizations. The funding will scale operations, targeting employment facilitation for 1 million people by 2030, including collaboration with the Pathways project to support young footballers' career development.
Remoteli leverages AI-powered software to connect African technology talents with remote workplace services, having already hired over one hundred individuals and served one hundred clients. The startup's expansion includes a move to Kigali, Rwanda, with further plans for expansion across Africa in 2024. Despite securing pre-seed funding, Remoteli emphasizes strategic bootstrapping and minimal fundraising for organic growth, eyeing a Series A round later in the year.
