Google has announced that it will be building a third data center in Singapore to meet rapid user growth in the region, bringing the company’s total long-term investment in such facilities to $850 million.

Google’s latest data center will add another $350 million to its spending in Singapore.

The company has begun construction on the third facility located in Jurong West from its first two centers. The facility will be one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly sites in Asia.

Google said in a statement that the third data center is expected to come online in 2020.
