Hop Products Australia (HPA), a hops growing company, has announced a $35 million expansion project.

The extension project is intended to boost the company’s total hop production by 50 percent over a period of six years, further advance supply of HPA’s proprietary hop varieties to Australian and international brewers.

The company has planted the first 50 hectares at its new farm in Victoria’s Buffalo River Valley. It is expected that 150 new hectares will be planted during the initial phase of the project.

In addition, the company will also build a new harvest complex consisting of 6 kiln floors and space for two Daunhauer pickers. In the second phase, there will be an additional 150 hectares planted plus an extra 6 kiln floors at full production by 2024.
