Indian mobile device manufacturing company Karbonn Mobiles has started operation at its Tirupati manufacturing unit, set up with a commitment of 200 crore rupees ($28 million).
The manufacturing unit is established at Sri Venkateshwara Mobile and Electronics Manufacturing Hub under the aegis of Andhra Pradesh government.
The plant, whose production capacity stands at 1 million cell phones per month, will be set up phase wise and will be spread in a zone of 100,000 square feet.
The unit will be rewarding work to over 1,000 employees.
