Indian online meat and fish ordering startup Licious has secured $25 million in a Series D funding led by Japanese frozen foods to cold storage warehousing company Nichirei Corp.

Licious will use the net proceeds to open its operations in the new year across seven cities including Mumbai, Pune and Chennai, and further strengthen its dominant market presence.

The round had participation from existing investors including India-based 3one4 Capital, Bertelsmann India Investments, Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India, U.S.-based UCLA Investment Co., and Sistema Asia Fund.

Licious has closed a total of $39 million in funding over four rounds.
