Oil & Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC), the Indian energy company, will spend about 13,000 crore rupees ($1.8 billion) in oil exploration and production projects in Assam over the next five years.

ONGC said the projected infusion is 30 percent more than its budget for the previous five years.

The company is part of the consortium that will connect all the north-eastern capitals with pipeline with around $845.1 million investment.

ONGC has inaugurated nine projects in the hydrocarbon sector in Assam at a cost of $211.3 million.
