Indian electric power transmission services company Sterlite Power Transmission Ltd. has agreed to infuse 10,000 crore rupees ($1.4 billion) in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).

Sterlite Power said that it is investing in the development of the power sector and renewable energy in the state.

The company has already informed the Union and J&K Government about its plan of investing in the state.

Recently, Sterlite has built the Jalandhar-Samba-Amargarh transmission line under the Northern Region Strengthening Scheme, NRSS-29, with an investment of $420.7 million and will be commissioned on February 3.
