Indian mass media company Sun TV Network Ltd. is preparing to commit 300 crore rupees ($42 million) in content and marketing for its upcoming Bengali and Marathi channels.

The company said that it will be infusing $21 million both on content and marketing in the first year to the Sun Bangla channel.

The Bengali channel in the general entertainment channel (GEC) segment, which will be the group's first foray outside south India, is expected to be inaugurated on February 3.

Sun TV Network added that it intends to unveil a Marathi channel in another year and another $21 million will be injected.
