Tata Global Beverages, an Indian non-alcoholic beverages unit of technology to telecommunications company Tata Group, intends to commit 100 crore rupees (approximately $14 million) investments to set up a tea packaging facility.
The new facility, which will have the capacity of 36 million kilograms, will be located at Odisha’s Gopalpur Industrial Park and will be developed by Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Ltd, property management unit of Tata Group.
At full capacity, the plant will generate employment for about 650 persons.
The tea packaging plant will also improve Tata Global’s Indian market and is scheduled to be operational by 2020.
