Indian Ports Global Ltd., a joint venture between port operators Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust and Kandla Port Trust, plans to develop the Shaheed Beheshti Port at Chabahar, Iran.

With the expansion plan, Indian Ports Global Ltd. will construct the port with $500 million investment to allow cargo movement and link road to Afghanistan, bypassing Pakistan.

The deal is subjected to another meeting in regards to the potential of Chabahar, next year on February 26.

The Chabahar port, a key link to the International North South Transport Corridor, will also have an international motion through Iran, Afghanistan, India, Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Europe and Central Asia.
