Indian hotel chain operator Oyo Rooms intends to infuse $50 million over time in its operations as it extends into the Philippines.

Oyo Rooms said that by launching in the Philippines, it is accelerating its vision of bolstering its foothold in Southeast Asia.

The startup will start facilities in Manila, Tagaytay and Cebu with 21 hotels and intends to extend to 10 cities by 2020.

Oyo Rooms also plans to start operations in Japan and is eyeing a dominant market in the hotel industry ahead of the 2020 Olympic games.
